WebJun 17, 2024 · Integers can't hold all the data a float can (an integer cannot store the decimal part of a number) so you have to do something like rounding the float to the nearest integer or etc. The .astype(np.int64) method will return the floored float or array of floats etc. in the numpy.int64 type. Of course, I could remove the NaN s by hand and then use numpy types, but this is a lot of hassle, a potential source of errors and, I guess, also not very pythonic.
