That should solve about 90% of any problems folks have with these. My opinion is that the best mod for these is a bypass switch on the high frequency bleeder cap (C48?).

The stock "vintage series" speaker, a kind of greenback clone by eminence, is still one of my favorites. I kept repairing them until I gave up and used the chassis and transformers for low voltage fender pro and plexi clones. Everything is working fine except the bias seems to be hot (but not red plating) for a fix bias non adjustable (4) EL84`s at 85 to 100% mpd.
